Y’all it is almost here. Yes, that is right spring is right around the corner. Just a mere two weeks away. I cannot wait for warmer weather and lighter layering options. You know what that means, right?! You guessed correctly; it is time for a round up of spring 2022 essentials. Tops, bottoms, layering pieces, shoes, and accessories, you name it, I am hopefully going to cover it all.
We shall get started with layering pieces first. I will start with my favorite layering piece for this spring and that is the leather blazer. Imagine a slightly oversized black blazer for a cool casual look. You can pair this with your favorite denim, graphic tee, and sneakers for an easy everyday outfit. If you are needing something a little dressier, I am loving the more cropped leather blazers for this season. Snag one in a cream color to pair with a vibrant spring top and flare pants for a chic work look. Still on the topic of blazers, if you aren’t loving the leather option then stick with an oversized blazer and matching trousers. You can go with a neutral color like cream or really go for it with a vibrant pink power suit. Honestly, it is really all about the power suit this season. And, for a more casual option go with an oversized denim jacket. Denim jackets are always an essential for spring but try an updated fit this year with an oversized option. Oversized or cropped seems to be the go-to for layering pieces this season.
There are several colors and styles of tops to try this season. For colors the brighter the better. Think bright blue, pink, vibrant green, and orange. The first option for style is a ruched top. Yes, you heard me right, ruching is back. You will be able to find tops with ruching down the middle or even on the sides of shirts. It is the perfect way to add the slightest detail to a top. For the next style we have cutouts. Cutout tops were making their way to the scene this past winter and are here to stay for spring. You can find cutouts on the side of tops for a more subtle look or if you are a little more daring then try a style with cutouts on the front of the shirt. Speaking of daring the next option is probably the most edgy of them all. Wearing a bra style top. It is not quite a bra, but oh so similar. These will come in practically any color or material. The best way to wear the bra top this season is going to be in a neutral color paired with an oversized blazer. Next, we have the cardigan. Wear the cardigan buttoned up with your favorite bralette or buy a matching set. These sets are so fun! Coming with the cardigan is typically a matching cropped top to wear underneath, so you can have the option of wearing it buttoned or unbuttoned. Crochet style cardigan and sweaters are also going to be an easy go-to this season. Another sweater to have your eye on this season is the polo sweater. A polo sweater with a nice v-neckline is super easy to pair with light blue denim. And lastly are mesh tops. Mesh tops are such a fun casual alternative to a basic tee. You can take this top from day to night and easily find it in a solid color or more modern pattern. Now that you have some ideas for tops you are ready to pick out bottoms.
Going in line with the oversized jackets are loose fitting pants. Starting with the dressiest of them all are flare dress pants. Wear a classic pair of ivory flare pants with a pop of color or neutral blazer, and if you can’t quite see yourself in flare pants you can stick with the less extreme option, which is bootcut style pants. In line with bootcut and flare dress pants are denim. You can wear these in a full-length option with booties or go with a slightly cropped pair to wear with sneakers. Most of these will be found in a high waist, but if you want to be super on trend and are brave enough then you will be able to find these in a low rise. Yep, low rise pants are coming back in style, eekie. Low rise wide leg trousers are definitely a thing these days, and with the elastic waist on some of these I may be able to get on board for a super comfy outfit. Last are cargo pants. Loose cargo pants dressed up with a heel is very on trend. You can dress these cargo pants down with a chunky pair of sneakers (i.e., Converse).
Next, are one-piece outfits. With dresses you can take any of the trends mentioned above, vibrant colors, cutouts, ruching, or mesh fabrics. These options are all great for night out looks. And, making their way back from the 70’s are catsuits. Most often worn while doing aerobics or working out, but you can dress this up too. Pair this with a leather jacket, fun heels, and add your favorite accessories for an evening out.
Last but not least are the finishing touches for your spring looks. I won’t go too much into detail about shoes now, but if you are looking for new spring shoes already then go with a pair of clogs. Clogs are such a fun shoe to have in your wardrobe. They will look fabulous with loose denim! If you are looking for something comfier then go with a lower heel, and for a more dramatic look go with a higher heel. Along the same lines as clogs are platform shoes. These too are making a big comeback and will be great for going from spring to summer. A fun accessory this season are colored sunglasses. If you like keeping things neutral but are okay with trying a pop of color then snag some pink, green, or yellow rimmed sunglasses. Lastly, are shoulder bags. You will be able to find these in a range of sizes from extra large to mini. With the variety of sizes, you can easily take this bag from day to night.
So, are you ready for spring fashion? What are you looking forward to most trying?
